Fishing It's easy to see why Los Cabos has long had a reputation for great sports fishing. The spot where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean is home to over 850 species of marine life, earning it the nick name "Big Game Fishing Capital of the World." About 40,000 marlin and swordfish are caught here each year--more than any other destination. Other sport fish include, sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo and Roosterfish. In order to perserve fish populations, "catch and release" is encouraged for all species, especially marlin, but fish can be cleaned and filleted at the dock, and many of the local restaurants will be happy to cook your fish for you. Golf
With beautiful ocean and desert views, a round of golf at one of Cabo's world renowned courses is legendary with golfers all over the world. Specials are often available at these wonderful courses. concierge services can arrange your tee times for you, and extend discounted rates to our guests on some courses. Snorkeling The finest snorkeling in the area can be found in nearby Santa Maria Bay. The boat ride from Cabo's main dock takes about 20 minutes. There are hundreds of different varieties of fish here and the water is calm and very warm. A great experience for kids, and adults alike.
Wave Runners The ever-popular wave runners are available to rent right at the beach. Get ready for a wet and wild experience with the wind in your hair and the sun on your back. Go all the way out the sea lion colony at the Arch and tour Cabo Bay from a unique perspective.
Scuba Diving There are many local dive sites of varying skill levels, from beginner, to master diver. You can even make your first excursion into the underwater world with an introductory course that requires no experience at all. Nearby Cabo Pulmo is the most northerly coral reef in the Eastern Pacific.
Surfing
The beautiful waves of Baja are legendary among surfers, and Cabo is legendary in Baja. Never surfed before? no problemo amigos, lessons are available locally and locals can show you the secret spots.
Para-Sailing Cabo from a bird's-eye view--para-sailing, either single or tandem around the Bay of Cabo San Lucas is a great way to check out the beautiful scenery. No experiene necessary. Children under 12 years of age must fly tandem with an adult. Combined weight must be less than 300 lbs.
Cruises Enjoy an evening on one of the many boats that provide wonderful sunset cruises, some including dinner. Snorkeling trips are offered during the day (usually including lunch). Or, if you have a large group, charter one for your own special party. Here are a few of the local companies that provide these services:

Whale Watching From late November through March, California gray whales frequent the Cabo San Lucas area to winter over and calve. Whale watching trips are generally 2-3 hours, and get you up close to these magnificent creatures. These trips are offered by many of the same companies that provide the sunset and snorkeling trips, or you can engage a private panga. A typical private panga will seat up to 6 people
Kayaking Kayaking is one of the most popular outdoor activities in baja, and small wonder! Local guides can show you all the secret bays, and special sights, and what better way to get a great workout. Both double and single seater kayaks are available. If you prefer to go it alone, you can leave the guide behind.
ATV Tours
Racing through the dry water tracks, or cruising up and down the beautiful sand dunes, ATV tours are great fun. The guided 3-hour ATV tour to the old lighthouse is one of the most popular tours in Cabo. Stay there to view the incredible sunset on the Pacific Ocean before heading back to town. You can also rent the ATVs by the hour or the day. Please Note: Children under 12 cannot drive, but can ride with an adult.
Shopping
For those who love to shop, the main streets and alleys of Cabo overflow with fun and fanciful boutiques brimming with souvenirs, arts and crafts, jewelry, pottery, beachwear and clothing. Street vendors bring their own version of creative marketing to the village. Downtown Cabo San Lucas is a great place to discover local artisans, traditional Mexican artifacts and even American made products. While downtown Cabo San Lucas offers more authentic Mexican gifts, the Puerto Paraiso Entertainment Plaza that opened in the fall of 2001, caters to shoppers with more expensive and sophisticated tastes. Unique silver jewelry and pottery made by local artists are popular items for tourists to take home. Boulevard Marina, and the nearby streets that back up to the main square, make up Cabo San Lucas' main downtown shopping district. Since the opening of Puerto Paraiso Plaza, this area has become known as "Old Town." It offers just about every gift that one could imagine. Located by the harbor, Boulevard Marina is a magnificent area to browse with many little boutiques that line both sides of the street. There are many wonderful home furnishings, Mexican art pieces, and other things to bring home for yourself, or for a friend.
Horseback Riding Galloping along the shoreline while the sun smolders copper-red on the horizon, and the waves crash on the beach--what could be more romantic? Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult.
Nightlife
Cabo has a lot to offer after dark. Clubs like Cabo Wabo, Gigglin Marlin, and Squid Roe keep the party going until the wee hours. For a relaxing evening of laid-back jazz, try Sancho Panza with its extensive collection of wines. New places open all the time, so there's always plenty to do if you love the night life.
